Taking a Course
Work through the course modules in order, complete the required content and questions, then finish the course to receive your result.
Open a course
- 1Open a joined course from My Courses, or open a course from the catalog and choose Join this course when it is available to you.
- 2My1Service starts a course attempt the first time you enter the course.
- 3Use the module panel to see the current module and the modules that unlock as you progress.
Complete modules in order
Modules are ordered. The first module is available straight away; later modules stay locked until you complete the one before them. A module is complete when you have viewed its learning content and, when it includes questions, answered every question in that module.
- Select an available module from the module panel, or use the previous and next module controls.
- Choose Next Module only after the current module is complete.
- On the final module, choose Finish Course once its content and questions are complete.
Video and resources
A module can include video, a written description, and downloadable resources supplied by the course author. The built-in video controls let you play or pause, seek through the video, mute or unmute, and open fullscreen.
Answer questions
Multiple choice
Choose one option. The response is saved when you select it.
Free text
Enter your answer and move focus away from the field to save it. Free-text answers are reviewed by an instructor or admin, so final results can remain pending until that review is complete.
Finish, review, or retake
After finishing the last module, My1Service shows the course result. When an attempt contains free-text answers awaiting review, the result is marked pending and the downloadable result and certificate are held back until review is complete.
If the course allows another attempt, the result screen shows Retake course. Whether it is available depends on the retry limit configured for that course.
